The most important part of the sales process
June 5 2026
Everything in a revenue system starts with customer truth. When a company truly understands why customers buy, why they hesitate, and what they value, every other part of the business, from messaging and lead quality to product decisions and sales effectiveness, becomes stronger and more predictable.

The most important part of the sales process is customer truth. Everything else depends on whether you genuinely understand the customer’s problem, urgency, economics, and decision process. Good MQLs matter. Training matters. Objection handling matters. But if the company does not have a sharp grip on why customers buy, why they delay, and what value they trust, the rest becomes optimization on top of weak foundations.
That is why I put so much emphasis on disciplined learning loops. The sales process should not just move deals. It should improve the company’s understanding of the market. When that happens, lead quality improves, messaging sharpens, product decisions get smarter, and training becomes more relevant because it is rooted in reality.
